The South African runner Oscar Pistorius has received a great deal of media attention lately, with his unusual prosthetic legs that some claim leave him at an advantage over more conventionally enabled athletes. As medical technology continues to develop, this will increasingly be an issue for sport’s governing bodies. If more and more athletes receive artifical help that is designed to overcome physical disabilities, but actually gives them an advantage, we come to a point where the Olympics becomes like F1 racing.
